
ABOUT ME
Dr. Kaumudi Misra is an Associate Professor of Management at California State University East Bay as well as a Management Consultant. She publishes research and conducts training that has practical implications for organizations such as improving their ability to simultaneously manage employee productivity and well-being, addressing challenges posed by time zone differences, and providing employees with skills to proactively manage their work-life balance. In addition to her research being published in top management and industrial relations journals, Dr. Misra’s research on time zone differences and work-life flexibility practices has positively impacted the global community through acknowledgement by the Harvard Business Review (HBR’s 10 Must Reads 2023), Academy of Management, Labor and Employment Relations Association and the Center of Effective Organizations, as well as various media outlets such as ABC News, Yahoo!, NBC, and NPR. She has held leadership roles in the Work Family Researchers’ Network and the Academy of Management, and appeared as a subject matter expert on work-life flexibility and return-to-work strategies at academic institutions in the UK and India, as well as the Association of College & University Housing Officers in the United States. She received her Ph.D. in Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, M.B.A from Xavier University, and B.A. in Economics from Ravenshaw College.
